I need to know if my iPhone screen was replaced with an alternative one

Last Tuesday i got my phones charging port replaced at a 3rd party repair shop, when I got it back, I noticed the screen had no scratches and the top and bottom bezels were huge. The phone doesn't have any unknown part messages and it also has true tone.

Here are some comparison photos between the screen in question (bottom half) and an original screen from another iPhone (top half), can anyone tell me if it was replaced?

Ask the repair shop.

Scratches would not just disappear, unless there was a cover on the screen what was removed. As for the charging port being official ---only the individual who replaced it would know where it came from. So, google the shop, and overview their customer reviews. Also, see if they are an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Go here to find out if they are: Explore Service Locations

I did, nothing shows up and theres no unknown part message. But the screen still looks like it was replaced.

They weren't an AASP, so its my fault for taking it to an unauthorized place

?

So you wasted your time checking if your third party has nothing to do with AASP or Apple ....(?)

I have a hard time understanding the fascination with this continuing line of questioning if the screen was changed and your "I just need to know..."

They already told you they did not change the screen.

Whatever you are looking for here in an on-line user-to-user forum is best directed to your" 3rd party repair shop going forward.

I asked them prior to making this post, they told me they didn't change it and that the screen is original just because it had no unknown part message.

As for the scratches, they were from the screen itself, not from a screen protector. The screen also has horizontal lines when a light is shined onto it and the corners of the (im guessing) backlight are "sunken in".

They weren't an AASP, so its my fault for taking it to an unauthorized place, but i didn't really mind if it was or not, since it was just a charging port repair. The problem is that I believe they replaced the screen along with the charging port, which I didn't ask for.

The lines on the screen don't seem to be from a screen issue, since they are only seen on the glass part of it, they're symmetrical and appear on the entirety of the display.

I just need to know if the screen is or atleast looks like an alternative one and its not just me who thinks it is.

I. Screen Issues:

"I asked them prior to making this post, they told me they didn't change it and that the screen is original just because it had no unknown part message."

Are they an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider)? If not, then id take this with suspicion. AASPs are training in performing this stuff. So, see if they are or are not: Explore Service Locations

II. Lines on Screens:

"As for the scratches, they were from the screen itself, not from a screen protector. The screen also has horizontal lines when a light is shined onto it and the corners of the (im guessing) backlight are 'sunken in'""

Sounds like you have a damaged screen. So, take a screenshot, seeing if you no longer get these lines when you open it in the Photos app. If not seen, then it is a hardware issue. If seen, then it is a software issue.

To Get this iPhone Serviced...

Contact Apple, and setup a Genius Bar Appointment or see an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) in your local area. Be careful as to where you get this item, ask you may get an error of an unofficial screen. So, to avoid this continual message, it is best to have Apple replace a screen.

A. Contact Apple:

Or...

B. Contact an AASP:

  1. Go Here: Find Locations - Apple Authorized Reseller
  2. Click: Service & Support
  3. Enter: your location information
  4. See: if there is an AASP nearby
  5. Contact: an AASP that shows up, and find out more about the services that they offer to fix the iPhone.
