I am visually impaired and depend on AI to read for me. Examples of excellent AI voices include Substack, NYT, and the Guardian. The voices available on my laptop are so annoying I can't concentrate on the content. Are there others available for download? thanks.
MacBook Air, macOS 15.5
Apple doesn't allow you to download voices from the web. But you can choose voices that apple has on your Mac (these aren't very good though).
(I would recommend using the enhanced voices because they sound more human and less robot).

Dragon Naturally Speaking:
One thing I use is Dragon Naturally Speaking. I take a screenshot, and then copy and paste it into a word processor. Then, I have it read. It is NOT AI not for buttons in GUIs, but it would be an alternative way to dictate text that you Copy & Paste. Find it Here: Dragon Anywhere on the App Store
Yes, I am aware of what is currently on my MacBook Air and yes, the voices are terrible and that’s why I asked my question. I am looking for an upgrade in these voices because as I said, they’re so bad they distract me from focusing on the actual content. Thanks though.
