Intermittent text message reception on iPhone 16 and MacBook Air M4

Recently, I have a problem receiving text messages both on my iPhone 16 or MacBook Air M4. It works for 2-3 days and then I have to go to iCloud settings and toggle the messages button off/on, then restart my iPhone to get it to start working again. I can send messages with no problem. Tried logging out of iCloud and logging back in. No go.
