Apple ID fails to log in to iMessage on iPad

to open iMessage on my iPad requires me to use my Apple ID which is stored in 1Password. my Apple ID in 1 Password works on Mac & iPhone but not on iPad. So I can't open iMessages. Can anyone help? Thank you.
