What to do when Apple Fitness+ won't connect to my Apple Watch?

Dear Apple Engineering:

Imagine you start your day by firing up XCode and clicking on a file you want to edit.

Instead of opening up the file you get an error "Error opening file. Please try again."

Maybe this happens 3 times and then the file opens.

Or maybe it actually opens the first time.

Or maybe it happens 20 times and no matter how many times you click, the file just won't open.

All you want to do is open up a single file and get working on it but XCode is failing in its basic function.

Can you imagine just how infuriating that would be?

All you want to do is start doing your job but your tools can't do something so simple as opening a file.

Congratuations! You now know how I feel using the most recent Apple TV 4k and the most recent Apple Watch to start a Fitness+ routine.

This is a RECENT development.

I've been using Apple Fitness+ for many years.

Everything is up-to-date.

I purchased a new Apple Watch in January.

I replaced my old Apple TV with the 4k model in Februrary.

No issues using it 5 times a week until a few weeks ago.

It is the same outcome with letting it find my watch vs me using "other devices".

I've restored the watch from backup.

I've signed out and back into iCloud.

I've tried restarted both devices before a workout.

Nothing works reliably.

Maybe one day out of 5 it will work immediately.

Most days are 5-10 attempts.

One day a week I just have to give up because it refuses to pair.

How do I solve this issue?
