macOS Dictation Automatically Stops After 1 Minute on Intel i9 Mac Despite Continuous Speech

I am experiencing an issue with the built-in Dictation feature on my Intel i9 Mac. When using Dictation, it automatically stops after approximately one minute—even though I am speaking continuously without any significant pauses. This interruption makes it difficult to use Dictation for longer tasks such as emails, notes, or document drafting.

Interestingly, this issue does not occur on my other Mac device (with an M2 Max chip), where Dictation runs continuously as expected. I have checked my settings, ensured I am connected to the internet, and confirmed there are no obvious limitations applied.

I would like to know:

  • Is there a known timeout limit for Dictation on Intel-based Macs?
  • Is this a hardware or software limitation?
  • Are there any workarounds or settings (e.g., enabling enhanced or continuous dictation) that can prevent it from stopping automatically?

Any help to resolve or work around this limitation would be greatly appreciated.
