How do I prevent saved routes from being deleted from the default map app on my iPhone 11?

Hello, I recently saved a custom route via the "Maps" application on my iPhone 11. I had saved it to my iPhone. However, it appears that it disappeared after plugging it into Itunes, and choosing to download the latest update. I did not yet update the iOS, but have version 18.4. Did it erase simply because I may have synced it to a new system?

Anyways, I would like to find out how to prevent the phone from erasing the saved routes, so that I do not have to make the custom route every time that I drive to a destination.

Feedback would be appreciated.

Hello, when I have tried to access this saved map, it shows that it is saved, but i am not able to access it. There seems to be some sort of bug. Today, I have went to test it, and it does not seem to recognize that it is an alternate route. It says that it is in offline maps if I try to recreate a custom route, but it does not show it. Do you know why this might be? Also, I had followed the instructions at the link above the last time, but the map was not available when I started to use the app to drive.

Whenever I have saved a location in my library and then recalled it, I don't see that it saves a particular route. It seems to recalculate the route when I open it. I'm not sure if this is expected behavior or not. We would probably need to read up more about maps and navigation to see.
