Thank you for your response.
I started the process from >System Settings>General>Software update but kept getting the message in my screenshot (in a slightly different format, but the same message none the less). Since I was getting nowhere from the GUI, I decided to download the installer manually via terminal with “softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 15.5”.
I was also logged into my Apple account when I started the process. Since I was getting nowhere, I decided to ask the All Mighty Google and, although I did not find anything specific, suggestions from other people having issues upgrading to Sequioa were things such as “Turn off FindMy”, “log out of your Apple account”, etc. Things that seemed to help these other users complete their upgrade. So, I decided to try them.
I have not tried installing from Safe Mode, thanks for that suggestion.
At this point I’m also suspecting a corrupt security token. I have seen some weird things happen when the security token gets corrupted. I might try that angle before trying Safe Mode.
Again, thanks for your response,
Gus
