Mac Mail Sequoia: issue when adding attachments

When I'm in Mac Mail and go to add an attachment, the dialog window will only offer sorting files by name, size, kind, and date added. The first three are fine, but I need to sort files (almost always) by last modified. I could care less when a file was added. I need to make sure it's the most recently updated file. I cannot find a setting for this.
