Unable to scan with Samsung Xpress Multifunction printer on MacBook Pro

Currently I move from windows to Mac. I have a Samsung xpress multi function printer, I can not get it work on Mac Pro for scanning. I can print from that printer, and seeing a scan icon in printer Center, when I click on it then image capture left panel is empty. By the way the printer does not support AirPrint. Any suggestions to make the c460 work on Mac? It is working fine for printing and scanning on windows

thx

I assume that you are saying that the Samsung drivers available on the HP support site only let you print, and do not allow you to scan. As for VueScan, it should be safe if you get it from the developer's site. I am using a paid copy of VueScan on my Mac with a Canon all-in-one printer.

If you are considering VueScan, I would suggest testing the trial version to see if it would work for you. From the FAQ:

"Can I try VueScan before I purchase?

You can test the trial version of VueScan for as long as you'd like with flatbed scanning, Film/Slide scanning and ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) scanning. You can test most Professional Edition features with the trial version.

Scans from the trial version will have a watermark that can't be removed later.

If your scanner isn't working in the trial mode, it will have the same problem in the paid mode. You can send us a problem report and we'll try to solve any problems you may be having."

I have been using VueScan Professional since 2010 and it just works with the scanners it claims to support, either with a compatible vendor driver(s), or without. Your Samsung device is supported by VueScan without any vendor drivers installed.

I have never paid an upgrade fee since the VueScan Professional purchase. Hamrick Software, in no manner, compensates me for mentioning their product here.

VueScan manual.

Can you confirm which Mac you have? Your text says "Mac Pro," Apple's big expensive pro workstation, but your equipment line says "Macbook Pro," Apple's popular laptop line. The two models are very different.

Also, the macOS version you are running is important for us to know when remotely diagnosing printer issues. Please tell us that. Details get you faster and more specific help in this text-based setting.

Thanks!
