How can I recover my missing photos from iCloud?

I backed up my iphone 14 plus before factory resetting it and getting a new phone. Now on my new phone (iPhone 16) I am missing 5 months of photos (Feb.- July 2024) but I have everything from before and everything after. Those 5 months that are missing are my daughter’s first 5 months of life. Why did everything go to iCloud except those months? Can I get those photos back!? They aren’t on my iCloud. Help!
