In iTunes for Windows I had a bottom-edge status bar, which displayed the total number of songs in my song library, plus the amount of total playing time. Is there anyplace I can access this data using Apple Music for Windows?

On the Mac version the option is "View > Show Status Bar" to see those statistics. I assume it is the same for the Windows version. Likewise to hide those statistics, the option is "View > Hide Status Bar".
Apple Music for Windows lacks many features that are present in iTunes, and exist in the Mac counterpart. My recommendation is to remove Apple Music/Devices/TV and stick with iTunes until such time as Apple Music for Windows becomes an acceptable replacement.

Take note of the post by turingtest2. Once you do that, you will find the View/Status Bar option.
