MacBook M3 battery life seems to drain fairly fast :(

I purchased a MacBook M3 model in August 2023, the battery is now 99%..is that normal? The battery seemed to drain 1% in less than 3 months at the time.

Can someone please help me?

Thank you !

It is perfectly normal. The Maximum Capacity of Apple batteries will actually fluctuate up & down by 5% (sometimes more).

Don't bother looking at the battery details unless you just want to observe & learn how macOS & these Apple batteries behave. Just use the laptop as you wish until the battery is no longer providing the runtime you normally have, then start looking at the Battery Condition to see if it says "Service Recommended" or if the Battery Cycle Count is nearing 1,000 charge cycles. You can also try running the Apple Diagnostics to see if any hardware issues are detected. Only the only useful diagnostic result is one with a failure code indicating a hardware issue.

Thank you so much! I suppose I am worrying too much. I have charged it about 90 times now and it hasn't gone down from 1% which is great :).

A Quick Tip: If it helps anyone at all I am using a software called amphetamine which allows the Mac to work on a display with the lid closed..I have also read on reddit that it can make your battery life better in some way ( not sure if that's actually true) but, the good thing is I find it really useful that I can keep my Mac lid shut and still use it :)
