How do I find added description to the videos on my iPhone 15?

I recorded a series of videos and added descriptions to each one. How do I find that description again?

Having all the information makes quite a difference!

The comments are available in your own Library, as you saw. But a Shared Album uses lower resolution copies-- they're not the same videos.

At this point you can copy your captions and paste them into the comments. Then they'll be in both places.

When I find one of the videos in my Library, the circled i comes up. That also works when I go to the Videos section of Media Types. But when I go to the shared album I created for these videos, all that shows at the bottom of the screen is the option to add a comment (or like or upload). That's frustrating, since I put the captions in for the sake of others who only have access to the shared album.

I'm afraid you have to add comments after adding the photos to a Shared Album.

You didn't mention that you were dealing with a Shared Album. Those are not the same as normal Albums. Apple strips out some metadata for privacy reasons, including comments. (Exactly which metadata is copied and which is stripped has changed several times over the years. By experiment, comments are currently stripped.)

The only place I can think of where a picture or video doesn't have the "little circled (i)" is Recently Deleted. Did you specifically put your videos in an album?

How about if you scroll down to Media Types, near the bottom, and open Videos:

In this section you should be able to tap on a video and it should open like this:

with the (i) at the bottom between "Favorite" and "Edit"

If this doesn't work, can you give us a screen shot, so we can figure out where you are. Also, it helps to have details of exactly which buttons you tapped to get there, sort of like what I did to describe taking a picture.

Take a screenshot on your iPhone - Apple Support

The menu below here has an icon

that lets you upload a picture. You can grab the handles on the corners of the picture to re-size it to fit better.
