Difficulty scheduling Genius Bar appointments for non-listed issues

I am slowly getting frustrated with the site changes regarding how we can schedule Genius Bar appointments. So far I've found a way to at least find the store closest to me, but there's only the option for a hardware change (or whatever it says exactly, I have forgotten by now since I've become frustrated).


Every option I check, whether it's a cracked screen, battery issues, etc., there's a helpful suggestion and / or troubleshooting info to prevent me from making an appointment. My issue is not listed. What if I learn better by hands on experience or simply prefer talking to a person standing/sitting in front of/next to me? We are all different regarding how we prefer to get help with our Apple products. We pay enough to buy them so we should be able to make appointments for anything we want without spending so much time to figure out how.

Sorry you seem frustrated, but you aren't speaking with Apple here. This is a user to user only forum, which Apple doesn't actively participate, nor read for user feedback.


If you're in the US, you can call Apple at: 800-MY-APPLE and they can help you get an appointment where you want for whatever issue you may have.

Simply go into your local store and talk to any person directly who can assist in setting up an appointment and you can also learn about Sessions offered at your local store where they may have hands on classes on a variety of topics. I understand it may be an extra trip for you, but that will get you one on one interaction and they are more than happy to help.

Thanks so much for your reply. Yes, I have navigated to this screen before, but it leads me to select only one option, hardware problems. It doesn't do this to you? I don't have a hardware issue. And if I want to lie and say I do (to get an appointment under false pretenses), I get brought to a list of troubleshooting tips and cannot navigate anywhere to schedule an appt. Thanks again though.

Genius Bar appointments are primarily for hardware issues. “In addition to the Genius Bar for hardware repairs, you have more immediate support options. Get your questions answered by an expert via phone or chat.” Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple


Depending on the help you need you might call it chat Apple so they can help you get an appropriate appointment scheduled instead.
