Apple News+ subscription not providing access to recommended articles

I pay for apple news +. On the emails it sends me with articles to read, some of them will not let me read. It says I must purchase WSJ or National Geographic, etc. Why should I pay for Apple news and also have to subscribe to these different magazines to read the articles Apple News recommends I read.
