How to convert my 800 purchased iTunes songs to enable download to my gen 4 Shuffle

I understand The Music is protected via MP4, but I’m not trying to download streaming I just wanted to download my music that I purchased from iTunes onto my recently acquired GEN four shuffle. I had no issues multiple years ago when I had an active iTunes account also but that is not working. All I have now is the $25 Or $50 a year access to music I’ve already purchased from Apple. There must be an acceptable workaround. Can The Music be converted to P3 or flack or Apple lossless I’m not stealing. I’m trying to utilize my purchases for my personal utilization through what must be my 10th or 12th Apple handheld or portable device.

If you mean Apple Music, the subscription service, then there are two points:

1. that is not music that you have purchased. (It may include music that you have purchased, but it's not the actual purchases)
2. Apple Music (from the subscription service) cannot be copied to an iPod Shuffle. (The only iPod that can make use of Apple Music is some models of the iPod Touch)

You cannot convert Apple Music to anything else.

Your account should still be working. However, if you are subscribed to Apple Music, that will be one of two reasons why you cannot access your account's purchases. The other reason will be if you install Apple Music (the app. not the subscription service), Apple TV or Apple Devices on your computer. Once you have done that, you can sign into your account and re-download your purchases, from the same Apple account that you used to purchase them originally.

To use your music library with your iPod Shuffle, you need to end your subscription and ensure that if you have installed any of the three apps mentioned above, that you uninstall them.

I realise that this is rather complicated. That appears to be progress.
