Pages documents on iPad require password instead of Touch ID

I can open my spreadsheets using a fingerprint but I have to enter a password every time to open my Pages documents

Pages v14.4 on iPadOS v18.5 can use Face ID (if configured) to automatically unlock a password protected document on iCloud Drive from the iPad.

On the Mac, accessing the same document on iCloud Drive, you will receive a password dialog that has a checkbox (that you select) on it to use Touch ID. You will still need to enter the password for this dialog, but subsequent attempts at opening the password protected document will then present the familiar Touch ID interface.

The second paragraph worked for me when tested on Sequoia v15.5 and the document that I locked on iPadOS was unlocked with Touch ID on my MBP M1 Pro.

I have tried your suggestion and the result was that every time, not just the once, afterwards it asks for my finger print and (unfortunately) my password. My spreadsheets and Pages documents are set up in the same way and the spreadsheets open with just a fingerprint as expected but the Pages documents require both fingerprint and password. It looks like I will have to live with it, it is not a big problem, just a bit frustrating. Thanks for the reply, it is much appreciated.
