Just been given iPhone 14 Pro with IOS 18.5. I can copy and paste within the Microsoft Edgw browser, but cannot copy from another app (Messages) intoEdge

it's not a general problem just put it to the test by copy pasting some text from the apple notes app into the search field of ms edge on my iPhone 11 with ios18.5
if it was me then I would try to force restart Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
and or maybe delete edge and reinstall it
and of cause try to copy paste from another source than the one you experience issues with to troubleshoot
