How do I turn on ultrawide lens on Facetime calls on my M4 Ipad Pro?

I'm having this weird issue where my Facetime calls are no longer reverting to the ultrawide lens when I turn off center stage. I was on a Facetime call where I flipped to the front facing camera to show something and then when I flipped it back to the front facing camera, I was suddenly zoomed in. I double checked and triple checked that center stage was turned off but I can't get my ultrawide lens to activate on Facetime calls anymore. I have tried restarting the iPad and even doing factory resets but nothing seems to help.
