How can I sort my photos from newest to oldest after an import?

When uploading photos to my iphone from my camera via usb memory card import, the most recent photos always show at the very bottom, causing me to have to scroll through thousands of photos just to get to the most recent photos that I want to import.

I was wondering if there is a workaround for this?

I thought about changing my camera setting's date year to 1990 so they would show first, however they would show in my camera roll under the incorrect date.

Any creative thoughts here??? Thx!! :)

That's funny, and you're right, the sorting order in Imports makes no sense. On a Mac, by the way, Imports sorts properly, but there too, the order can't be changed-- or needs to be.

The solution on the phone is to not use Imports. The Photos view of the Library puts the most recent pictures right in the middle of the screen when you first open Photos.

and you can sort the Library to get the "Recently Added" pictures where you see them first:

So you can use the Photos or Library view rather than having to depend on Imports.

Another option is to go to Utilities>Recently Saved,

where you would see the most recently added pictures every time. You can sort Recently Added either direction.

I have edited my Utilities list so that Recently Saved is near the top and shows on the Utilities Home screen.

If you still have hope for Imports, they you can let Apple know here:

The Import window cannot be sorted, afaik. Import and export photos to your iPhone or iPad using Apple camera adapters - Apple Support

The only help is to keep the number of photos on the card small. Once you have made two backup copies of the photos on a computer and checked, if the copies are readable, consider to erase the older photos from the card, so the most recent photos are easier to access, when you are importing from the card.
