Can’t receive emails to my @me.com email address

I didn’t monitor my inbox for a while so it filled up quite a bit. A little while ago I decided to have a clear out but not I’m not receiving any emails except ones from Apple. I tried emailing myself from a different address but I received a message saying the inbox was full and can’t receive emails. How can my inbox be full

when I cleared it out?
