Extended Apple Care between Continents
I bought a new laptop last week. I live in Australia, but will return to the US in 5 months. If I purchase extended Apple Care here, will it be honored there?
MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 15.5

The hardware repair seems to be world-wide, if you check the Australian Apple Care page:
AppleCare Products - Mac - Apple (AU)
AppleCare+ Terms and Conditions
Maybe you should call them and ask, just to be sure:
Contact Apple Support on 1300-321-456

I would wait to buy.
Thanks, that's probably what I'll do. I did read in the fine print that if I buy my AppleCare in one country and make a claim in another, I'd have to pay what that country requires. Which makes sense.
Another complication is with the keyboard assembly, which includes the keyboard, trackpad, battery, and the top plate to which all are attached.
If a keyboard needs to be replaced, that same keyboard might not be available in the non-original country. This would require special treatment, because Apple policy is always replace like-with-like, and NEVER substitute.
You're welcome 🙂
