MacBook screen damaged out of nowhere

I've recently acquired a beefy MacBook Pro M4 from Amazon. Upon three days of light use, the screen has this preposterous black line in the center of the screen. This was seemingly out of nowhere. I've took this laptop to the Genuis Bar at a physical Apple location, but they said screen replacements cost upwards of $800 (About 1/3 of the MacBook's initial price) I was wondering if anybody had the same issues, or it has something to do with the merchant. If anyone has a better way of resolving the issue, it will help a lot.

ONLY if you bought through "the Amazon Apple Store" they are an Apple-Authorized Reseller. A warranty should be included, and you should be able to get a repair our replacement in a straightforward manner under that Amazon Apple Store warranty. I am not certain whether that is a 'Go to Apple' warranty or a 'Return the device to us for repair' warranty, you would have to check with them.

BUT:

If you bought from a random seller that happens to use Amazon as their 'storefront', you will have to deal with that seller directly. There may be a warranty, or maybe not. Amazon (as the overall selling service) may be helpful if you need to apply pressure to the seller get satisfaction, but that may not be adequate.
