iOS 18.5: How to force Photos app to display ONLY photos that are not assigned to an album?

I'm always annoyed when using the Photos app on my M2 iPad Air that there is no way (that I've found) to display only images that are not assigned to an album. This feature would help immensely to sort and file large numbers of recent photos that need to be sorted, many of which are ALREADY in albums. So often I wind up assigning a photo to a different album (without realizing that I've already albumized it), and it's frustrating later (months...) when I review albums and find images that don't really belong in some albums.

Is there a way that would hide photos that are albumized?

We're talking 50,000 photos taken over 60 years, which means a lot of time scrolling through pages and pages of photos, many of which could be hidden since they're in albums.

Thank you for any info or tips that can help with this.

I'm not sure why using the filter is not working for you. Be sure you're in Library view

when you choose the "Sort" menu, and then "Filter>Not in Album" should do what you want.

In what way is this not working for you?

(Oops, you're talking iPad and I used a picture from my phone-- but it's really the same… )

Totally unrelated question: I can never seem to be able to rely to these points from my iPad - once I compose the note and tap the "post" link, I get this response: The entire text field turns pink and a message below states, "Your post could not be saved. Please try again in a few minutes."

Also above the reply field is this statement: Your session has expired. Please log in again to restore your reply.

Despite further logins, this is what always happens when replying from my iPad. I can post new messages fine. See screen grab below. Any thoughts? I've sent notes to Apple many times but no help, no response.
