iPhone resends invitations just by scrolling past the event in the iCal app

iPhone: 16 Pro Max

iOS: 18.5

-Open the iCal app on the iPhone

-Create a calendar event and add invitees

-The invitees receive the invitation and may accept or not, this bit isn’t important

-At any future point, open the iCal app on the iPhone

-Scroll through the events in list view ensuring you scroll by the above calendar event, you don’t even have to open it

-The invitees for the above event receive a new calendar invitation for the same event

-They keep receiving a new invitation for the same event each time I scroll through my calendar

Any advice on how to fix this please?
