I have iPhone 15 ProMax. I have a PC running Windows 11, so I still use iTunes.
iTunes is indicating that I have 66 GB free on my 56 GB phone, but Windows Explorer is showing that I have only 24 GB free. That's over 40 GB difference, not insubstantial. See attached screenshots.
Why the difference? Anyone?

That method shows about 72-ish GB remaining, which is still more than 10 GB more than iTunes is showing, but yeah, a lot a lot more than Explorer. I'd sure like to know what the nature of the Windows Explorer issue is, which is the point of the question.
Windows and iOS are absolut different operating systems, and haven't been working well together from the beginning of iTunes for Windows. Apple does not want to give Microsoft more access to iOS than necessary, which might explain the Explorer showing not the correct amount of free space or any more details.
Did you check the storage space directly on the iPhone to compare?

This looks rather like a Windows Explorer issue.
Ok I guess the important part is that I don’t run out of space suddenly when I am still showing 40 or 50 GB on the phone. Thanks.
