ventura and sequoia space bar toggles between last two recent uses

Hello, thanks for your help. I am trying to watch linkedIn learning videos at home and at college on macs running different os. Both have the same behaviour. I like to use space bar to press play and pause on the video. However the space bar toggles between the last two uses, so if i've pressed play and pause it works: but as soon as i press anything else like zoom fullscreen, the space bar switched between fullscreen and normal view. I am trying to use keyboard and not mouse as i have rsi. Is there a command in settings to turn off to stop this last two recent uses behaviour? (I have tried f11 and also ctrl, cmd, and F neither work).

Many thanks Eve

The spacebar doesn't have a specific function while on a web page other than to activate the currently active control. Often, that's play/pause, but if you click on another control (zoom, or fullscreen for example) it will activate that control. If no control is active, it will scroll the web page down one page.

This is entirely normal.

Dealing with macOS 15 Sequoia and probably also macOS 13 Venture

Using space bar to preview images or videos is Quick Look for Sequoia or Quick Look for Ventura

You can with a Mouse usage make the Quick Look into Full Screen Mode if you click the icon with the Green Arrow

To EXIT Quick Look from Full Screen Mode >> use the esc key on the keyboard >> Top Left of the keyboard
