iMovie not allowing to select a majority of the footage filmed on that same iPhone

iMovie on iPhone won’t even allow me to select a majority of the footage filmed on that same iPhone. You go to start a project and random videos will just not even let you click on them, won’t allow you to even hover and hold to play the videos, you click select on the day and it freezes the app. This has been going on for months now. Baffling how the last update says this was fixed when it quite clearly is still happening.. in general the fact that your proprietary editing app (extremely simple and rudimentary for a not free editing software mind you) can’t make your also proprietary phone captured footage work within it. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED EXPEDITIOUSLY. Ridiculous.
