Unable to hear my electric violin in Logic Pro

I downloaded the newest Logic Pro free trial (11.1.2) and I can't figure how to get my electric violin to play and record.

I adjusted my inputs to the following.

I have my track selected but I get nothing.

I have done this with Garage band with success so I figured Logic Pro should be the same.

I'm on my Macbook ( Sequoia 15.5)

Thank you

Hi

As a test, Set your logic Audio devices to Input (USB PnP), Output to Mac Speakers

2 Questions:

  1. How did you do this with GarageBand? Was it on an iOS device or on your MacBook?
  2. In Logic Pro Mac, were you playing your violin into an Audio track or MIDI track?

Every thing I've found says you need an audio interface, but they accept 1/4" jacks, not mini USB-C.

It also says to record in to an Audio track. According to the Stagg specs for your model, it does not contain a USB interface.

Interface:

The image shows a Gevinal brand cable with a USB-C connector on one end and a 1/4" TS (Tip-Sleeve) or instrument jack on the other.

  • Product:
  • This is likely an audio interface cable, designed to connect devices with a USB-C port to audio equipment or instruments with a 1/4" jack, such as guitars, keyboards, or audio mixers.

I do not know this unit but to start (and what the Usb cable is for), you connect the 1/4 inch cable to an interface and then select the appropriate interface under Logic Pro Settings>Audio>Devices. After that create an Audio Track and then select the right input.

Info from the internet:

To connect a Stagg electric violin, you'll need an amplifier, a 1/4 inch jack cable, and potentially other equipment depending on your setup. First, plug one end of the cable into the violin's output jack and the other end into the amplifier's input. Then, power on the amplifier and adjust the volume and tone controls as desired. You can also connect the amplifier to headphones or other audio equipment like a mixing desk or computer, using the appropriate cables:

For recording or more advanced setups, you might need an audio interface (as mentioned above), depending on your needs.
