Mid-2012 Macbook Pro, blue tint to screen, replace Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB?

I have a 13-inch mid 2012 Macbook Pro. A week or so ago it started to have a display issue. The screen would flicker and take on a blue tint, sometimes jumping back to normal, then back to blue tint. Over the past week it has sometimes had a normal screen, but the majority of the time it has the blue tint. I understand it is likely a graphics issue. My Macbook has the Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB. I'd like to replace it if possible but I'm getting some conflicting information that perhaps it is built into the CPU and can't be simply replaced. Is that true? If it is true that I can't just replace the graphics 'card', what part does need replaced and is it worth it considering the computer is 13 years old?

Also, any other possibilities on what the problem might be? I've checked the calibration and it says it is calibrated. I've tried manually calibrating it and only get worse results than the blue tint.

Thank you!

As you noted, the Mac is thirteen (!) years old. Whatever the problem, new replacement parts are not available so if you plan to replace what has failed, you will be looking for parts recovered from a similar aged computer, and just as likely to fail at any time.

Avoid the trouble and simply replace the old workhorse with a newer model.

Don't buy used Macs from any unknown source. That will put you at risk of encountering a whole other set of problems, including activation locked machines that may be bricked.

Yes the mid 2012 was a real work horse.

Definitely not worth replacing any components on this machine. Save your money, time to move up to a newer machine.

Not to mention it is limited to the max macOS that is 6, soon to be 7 operating systems behind today.

the last security update to the Catalina OS was 2022.

FYI, the issue more likely the Display Assembly. If you make a screen recording using QuickTime Player & play video back on another device, I doubt you will see any flickering occur in the recording. You can also see if an external display also has that issue. The laptop's LCD Panel is much more likely to fail this way (tint, flickering).
