Keyboard and mouse no longer connecting through KVM switch

Switching between macs with my KVM switch no longer works with the same mouse and keyboard. It makes me re accept the security for each one every single time. Sometimes the keyboard doesn't get detected at all through the KVM switch now either. This worked fine for years until the latest update a few days ago.
