Unable to add Santander Visa card to my Apple Wallet

Hi! The past few weeks I’ve been trying to add my Santander Visa to Apple Wallet and I always receive the same message: “Card Not Added: Contact your card issuer for more information”. I tried adding the card directly in Apple Wallet, then with the Santander App. I tried calling the bank and Visa, several times, and they are unsure of what to do, I even went to the physical branch. I called Apple Support to check that my phone is alright. I checked every step in the “If you can't add a card to Apple Wallet to use with Apple Pay“ page. I tried adding it with WiFi and also cellular. I tried waiting a whole week to see if it resets. I asked for another card, and it still doesn’t work.

The most awkward thing is that I tried it with my dad’s iPhone and it worked!

At this point I’m not sure what to do.

Might you be young enough that age is an issue?


If not, what other differences are there between your dad’s setup and yours? Some examples:

  • Different country or region
  • Different iPhone management (e.g., school, employer)
  • Different Focus restrictions
