Photos does not distinguish between two almost identical dogs

I have two almost identical dogs in my Photos. Photos does not distinguish between them. They are separated by time, but how can I tag the second dog?

Hello!

So assuming both dogs show up as the same dog, tap the dog that shows up as “Red” (for example) but is actually “Bear”. (Sorry I’m horrible at naming dogs.)

Then you’ll tap on the encircled “i” at the bottom of the photo, then tap the tiny picture of the dog in the bottom left of the picture. Then, tap “This is not Red” Then you can rename the pet, or remove the name.

Let me know if my instructions were clear enough. Thanks!
