How can I download pictures from iCloud to PC but not as a zipped file?

Trying to download my pictures from icloud to a pc as not a zip file. How?

Individual downloads will come a jpg files. Multiple photos selected will be compressed in a zip file. That’s by downloading online. You can install iCloud for Windows and have your files sync automatically

Yeah, where's that setting? Because the only thing that syncs automatically, is if I turn on "upload my photos FROM my PC TO iCloud".

Otherwise, it wants me to put stuff in a shared folder, which is ridiculous. Oh, wait.. never mind. Here's the message I got "Unable to add to shared albums. Adding to shared albums is not yet supported on icloud.com".
