Iphone 15 Pro Max not detected by Itunes

Wanting to backup my wifes Iphone 15 Pro Max using iTunes , prior to installing it to her new Iphone 16 Pro Max . But Itunes does NOT see the phone when its connected. I have tried numerous cables and have checked that NO other Apple software is installed on the PC.

The PC has been set as trusted , and the phone can be seen in windows explorer , although the Internal Storage folder shows as empty :-(
