Apple Pay transactions using my ATM card fail to show purchase details

ALL of my Apple Pay transactions that use my ATM card fail to show purchase details - what business I paid. When I go the bank app… all it lists is Apple Pay.

for transaction history this is completely unacceptable!!! Researching this issue has lead only to acknowledging that’s the way it is.

if anyone has more info … a solution.. I’d love to read it here.

Apple really needs to rectify. This is basic accounting practice.

to be clear - this is only when using the ATM card in the Apple Wallet on my 15ProMAX 18.5

id LOVE to be proven wrong.

You can almost think of Wallet as a super-specialized browser.

Each “card” is essentially it’s own window into the issuer’s “card site.”

What is displayed within each of those “windows” is determined by the respective issuer.

The information displayed in the Apple Wallet app is provided by the bank you have the ATM (debit card?) account with, not Apple. Part of the privacy features of Apple Pay is the information is not shared with Apple and your financial and personal information is not shared with the merchant (unless required to fulfill the purchase).

Please contact your banks support team using the number printed on the back of your card and request any additional information you require.

If in the U.S. you might also find Apple Cash useful.

It functions as a prepaid Visa Debit Card and I’ve found that merchant info posts “normally” in it’s register.

I frequently use it to avoid “Credit Card Surcharges” being levied by some merchants.

It also supports recurring payments to those merchants who are so-capable.

I have discovered a partial yet very helpful answer…

in Settings, your account name, Media and Purchases, Purchase History and Subscriptions…. These show all the repeat payments, which in my case use my ATM to avoid credit card interest payment…

in my case I don’t always pay my credit Card balance off each month… which risks getting hit with interest.

it’s a trade off - ATM vulnerability vs Credit Card vulnerability…. but at least now I can correlate transaction amount to what its paying for.

im open to better idea.

Purchases in Media & Subscriptions are going through your Apple Account (formerly known as Apple ID) and have nothing to do with Apple Pay. Apple Pay purchases show up in the respective card in your Apple Wallet app. Purchases for your Apple Account will appear in your account in Media & Subscriptions. I’m glad to hear you were able to resolve your issue.
