Will I get my Apple Watch replaced if it shows “Replacement product pending“?

I’ve had my Apple Watch Series 6 since February 2021. The battery has degraded to 79%. I sent in the product through the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store. I was told they would replace the battery for a fee and send back my original Apple Watch. The status of my repair has shown for the past four days “Replacement Product Pending“ while also indicating “Your repair is completed” and “We’ll replace your product”. What does all this mean? Will I get my original watch back with a new battery installed or someone else’s refurbished watch? If it’s not my original watch, what do I do if something is wrong with it?

It took 22 days from the time the service center received my Apple Watch until I received the replacement with a different serial number. The model number is slightly different in that it begins with the letter N rather than the letter M. It is possible that this is to reflect that my replacement does not have the Blood Oxygen sensor. I was told this would be disabled when I dropped off my watch. I believe this is because there was a lawsuit by Masimo against Apple that prohibits Apple from using their technology in its products. I did not receive any updates until I was eventually connected with a Customer Service representative. It seems like by putting my case on her radar helped to get a replacement sent to me, although that may be coincidental. Good luck getting your watch returned.
