Crontab won’t save edits on my iMac running macOS Sequoia 15.5

On one of four iMacs, all with current version of macOS (15.5) when I try to edit my crontab, it fails:

larry@habu ~ % crontab -e

crontab: installing new crontab

crontab: tmp/tmp.60758: Interrupted system call

crontab: edits left in /tmp/crontab.P8bRZW2vAJ

larry@habu ~ %

The other three work fine, and it worked on this one until recently (15.5 update?) Any ideas??
