Can I delete a Hide My Email address without affecting my main @me.com email?

Been using apple mail for a long time. I have 2 emails which seem interchangeable as my 'primary account' one ends in xxx@mac.com and one is xxx@me.com (the 'xxx' are the same).

While this is annoying it's been fine for years, and I use xxx@me.com most of the time.

I was cleaning up my hide my email list all which forward to the xxx@mac.com, and noticed that the email ending in @me.com had a hide my email created for it that also forwards to xxx@mac.com that was created about a year ago.

This seems weird as I don't remember creating this email. And I'm not sure how I could?

My question is can I erase this 'hide my email' without losing affecting the the xxx@me.com address within my mail account ecosystem as it would be a bit of a disaster if it did!

I've attached screengrab of the Hide My Email settings.

If anyone has any clarification that would be great.

Thanks
