my new iPhone 16 getting electric shock while its connected to charger

Take it to a Genius Bar or Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) and have it examined before it burns your house down. Make sure you take your cable and adapter along so they can check those too:

Have to tried to use a different charger or cable? Are you plugged into a grounded outlet?

Try a different charging plug and cable and if you're still getting an electrical shock, immediately schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and let Apple test your phone --> Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

In addition to what lobsterghost1 has provided, bring your cable and power adapter with you as well so that entire circuit can be tested.

Should it check out okay with Apple, you may need to have an electrician check your house wiring for grounding.
