My Apple llc won't boot and only show vertical stripes

My IIc doesn't want to boot. It won't even try to read the floppy disc.

When I turn it on, the display only shows vertical stripes.

I've turned it off and back on and this doesn't seem to accomplish anything.

Disconnecting devices from the SCSI port doesn't seem to do anything.

I don't believe that the Apple IIc has a SCSI port. MacTracker doesn't show that there is one, and it says that the Apple Iic came out in April 1984. I believe SCSI-1 was standardized in 1986.

Maybe you're looking at the floppy port (a DB-19 port), or one of the two video ports (a DB-15 port)? MacTracker has a caution about the latter:

First things to come to mind are an issue with the Monitor connection... cable/connector, or a bad GPU chip, or bad memory, but it could also be supporting circuitry for those items. You will need to try & find someone who has the Apple service manual & schematics (yes, Apple gave schematics to their authorized techs in the 80's). It may be not be an easy task to find such a person although I'm sure there are some groups out there with a collection of old Macs.

I only ever used a IIc once or twice....I never personally liked the early Macs as I could not stand the Apple DOS or ProDOS.

None of the Apple I, II, or III series machines were Macs – and no Mac ever ran Apple DOS or ProDOS, except as a secondary operating system on an Apple IIe Card.

The Apple IIe Card expansion card for the Macintosh LC allowed compatible Macs to run both their own software and many of the applications designed for the Apple II series.

Everything has a shelf life and after 41 years (released 1984), the electronics in your IIc have given up.

You might find another one on Ebay in working (gamble) order, or even maybe some parts there. But asking us to guess what is specifically wrong would be a big ask. No Apple Store or Authorized Service Center will work on it as there are no parts, and at this late date, no one that knows how to diagnose or service it.
