I can turn on camera and take a picture, but will not allow me to adjust the settings... only the zoom. can't change to other settings

Tap on the “^” at the top of the screen.
When using the Camera Capture button, one tap gets you zoom. A light DOUBLE TAP gets you to the other settings. This is how it's been since the button appeared. And I just tested on both our iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max and it works as designed.
You probably know already but in Settings > Camera > Camera Control > Accessibility you can adjust how hard you have to press the Camera Control button, you can also adjust the speed, and it also has a graphic so you can “practice.” FWIW.
Thanks Lawrence, but apparently I should be able to access that menu from the new button by slight pushing down and scrolling left right to choose the setting and moving through them etc. but the only one I can access is the zoom
