Music on my iPhone has been deleted

All music on my iPhone (mp3's that I synced with iTunes from my Windows PC over the years) is gone. The only music left are a few songs/albums I purchased from Apple Music (I do not subscribe, I just purchased individual albums). All the support docs I find say to use iTunes to resync the music from my PC, but iTunes now says it's only for podcasts and that I should use Apple Music on my PC. I tried to sync with Apple Music and the music on my PC was not moved to the iPhone. I tried to use Apple Devices on my PC but could not figure out how to sync my music from the PC to the iPhone. Help! How do I get my mp3's from my Windows 11 PC to Music on my iPhone?

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 18

To use iTunes again properly you must uninstall Apple Music/Devices/TV. Until this is done iTunes is limited to managing audiobooks and podcasts. Hopefully when you revert to iTunes you will find your original library intact. If not see Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash - Apple Community.

There was no error message. The sync appeared to complete, but the music from my PC was not transferred to my iPhone. I followed the steps outlined in the articles you linked to: open Apple Devices, plug in iPhone, select Music under Settings on the left panel of Apple Devices, only one album that I purchased from Apple Music is listed. regardless of which sycn option I choose. Apple Devices does not recognize the other music on my PC (in the Windows Music folder) and I do not see a way to tell it where the music is located.
