iPad displaying oldest photos from 2018 in 2024

Can someone tell me what is this? I got this iPad in 2024 when I saw my oldest photos, it says “7 September 2018” can someone explain this?

Did somebody send you an old picture (by any of several paths)?

Did you have an old picture in your iCloud Photos library and connect it to your iPad?

Did you force-sync an old picture from a Mac or PC by wire?

The date you see is the creation date for the picture, and it may not be at all connected to the date it was transferred. In addition to Mark's suggestions, it could even have been accidentally download by a casual swipe on an internet ad. I'm constantly finding my finger taking me places I didn't mean to go…
