Calendar alerts are removed when a participant accepts the event

I create an event in a iCloud calendar that includes one or more invitees, and an alert 10 mins beforehand:

It sends me (or anyone else) and email, and I click the "accept" button. The event is updated with my accepted status, but the alert has been removed:

This has caused me to miss several calls! Anyone else seeing this bug?
