Unable to paste passwords in Mac Mail while creating accounts

Hi,

I'd like to move my email accounts over to Apple Mail. When I create a new account I cannot past the PW into into the PW field of the new account dialog box.

I have many email accounts all of which have stupidly long PWs of random characters. I am not going to attempt to enter each of those PWs one character at a time.

Is there any way to create a new account in Apple Mail by pasting PWs?

I know this used to be possible. What, if anything, am I doing wrong?

Sincerely.

So, it turns out you can't copy/paste a pw when adding a new Mail account if you are trying to do so in the Mail app.

However, you CAN do so if you add the Mail account using the "Internet Accounts" option in the System Settings app.
