In addition to @John Galt's great advice, try running the Apple Diagnostics to see if any hardware issues are detected. I would do this immediately after connecting the charger when the laptop shuts down or hibernates early. You can also try running the diagnostics at about the time you suspect the laptop will power off, but connecting the power adapter can change the behavior of the battery so that it may appear to be "healthy". Even so, these are the best times to have diagnostics to report a problem with the battery.

Just out of curiosity, I would like to see the battery information reported by macOS. Run the following command in the Terminal app which will pull all of the information macOS has on the battery and will place it into a text file named "Battery_Info_2025-07-03.txt". It will not be something that can easily be read since some portions are condensed, but I have a script I've created that can allow me to easily read all of the information in that file. This command will not destroy any existing file with that name, but will append the data to the end of the file (or creates the file if it does not already exist. You may name that file whatever you wish by modifying the command, but do not include any spaces in the name....best to stay away from special characters as well because the command line can be tricky with non-alphanumeric characters. It is best to just copy & paste the command from here into the open Terminal window since any typographical error will likely cause it to fail or have unexpected results.

ioreg -w0 -r -n AppleSmartBattery >> ~/Desktop/Battery_Info_2025-07-03.txt

Post the contents of that file here on the forum by using the "Additional Text" icon which looks like a piece of paper on the forum editing toolbar. You will need to copy all of the text from that saved file & pasted it into the window that appears once you click on the "Additional Text" icon. In addition include the exact model as shown in "About This Mac" when you click on the Apple menu. Also, include when the laptop was purchased as new....only need month & year.

I've been trying to collect some of this data from my organization's M-series Macs to better understand the behavior of the Apple batteries in order to better identify potential issues since Apple's diagnostics & battery condition information has never been that great for what I need and it is even worse with the M-series Macs. I'm hoping to identify some pattern in one of these reports. Unfortunately a battery can go from appear bad one second & appear healthy the next so it is not easy to get the information needed.
