When running the ECG app on my watch, touching the crown starts the countdown, but it goes to 27 and thenkeeps resetting to 30 seconds. It never completes an EKG. My software updates are current. i have cleaned watch and knob. I have turned on and off both my watch and iPhone. I have un & reinstalled EKG app. Nothing has worked. It worked fine a year ago, so something may have broken since. What should I do next?

I had the same thing off and on since last year. Mine would never get past the 20s before it would keep starting again and again. I bought a new watch band to make the watch tighter. I had lost weight and the band was not snug enough I thought. When my fingers are cold the ECG will not work. I have to put them in warm water. I still have the problem off and on and having an arrhythmia that I want to check does not make me happy with the Apple watch. Was thinking of buying one of the small ECG monitors they advertise on TV. I think there is a newer version being advertised.

I've heard good things about KardiaMobile. Their newest version uses 6 leads. However, I believe you will still have the same problem if your hands are very cold.
Have you tried unpairing and re-pairing the watch?

I haven't and honestly do not want to do that. Doing so would erase all of the info I have been tracking

It will all be loaded back onto the watch when you re-pair it.
