iPhone Safari doesn't support expander buttons in google search results

When searching on Safari using Google, the results page has expander buttons, that show up as a chevron down character (⌄). They appear to the right of questions I might want to ask, in a circle, and when I click on them, a new block of text shows up underneath, with an answer.

Except they don't always work. They work on my iMac, and on my iPhone 13, but my friend has tried this on an iPhone 14 and iPhone 15, and when she touches them, nothing happens. I couldn't get them to work either.

There doesn't seem to be any setting that controls this, and we couldn't find any difference between her settings and mine. (We looked under Settings > Apps > Safari.)

For example, search Google for Violet Green Swallow, and look at the four questions under People Also Ask.

Does anyone know how to get these buttons to work on an iPhone 14 or 15?
